So my baby picked me up at home around 7.30am on thursday, then we went to Kedai kopi Sin Hin at Donggongon Town for breakfast. I have to wait the kon lau men from this stall like more than 15 minutes..Sudalah i have to wait that long then tidak sedap again!
After breakfast, we start our journey to Menumbok. From KK to Menumbok it took around 2 hours and 30 minutes, anyway it depend on which road you took and your driving speed. We reached Pekan Menumbok around 10.35am like that. You can bring your car to Labuan if you don't want to rent a car or use the public transportation there. As for us, we didn't plan to bring the car to Labuan cause we need to wait longer there for the ferry and pay more. Baby park his car at Menumbok parking lot, i think its safe laa cause :D. You only have to pay RM5 per day and make sure you receive a receipt from them..
We chose to go Labuan by Speed Boat, which is faster than ferry of cause.
You need to purchase the ticket from the ticket booth and it costs RM15 per person (one way ticket) and they will ask for ur I.C or passport (foreigner) for their record and your safety, just incase anything happen..
waiting for the speed boat~
It took around 20-30 minutes from Menumbok to Labuan by speed boat.
We reached Labuan around 11.30am then from the Labuan Ferry Terminal, we walk to Victoria Hotel which located at Labuan Town and not so far from the Ferry terminal, around 5-10 minutes walking distance.
Reached labuan~
After check in and freshen up, we went out for lunch at Kedai Kopi Soon Hin Leong which is located not so far from the hotel. Total paid for lunch is RM13.
The last time i went here is like 11 years ago, when i was like 11 or 12 years old. I can't really remember how labuan look like actually.
We planned to go to Labuan's Bird Park which located at Tanjung Kubong, North Labuan.(15-30 minutes from town)
Baby actually plan to rent a car to travel around Labuan, but i don't feel like renting a car bcause after google-ing and ask my friends, they said labuan is a very small town, you can travel the whole town in just 2 - 3 hours.
After bincang2, we have decided to use the public transportation.
If you prefer Taxi, from Labuan Town to Tanjung Kubong is RM25 (Fixed Rate- one way).
If you use bus, you only need to pay RM3/pax to get there. Way cheaper right? haha i'm just trying to save as much as possible for transportation maa.
my first time using public transportation in Msia! :)
Baby said " puteri lilin naik bus" hehe ;p
We finally reached Taman Burung Labuan , suprisingly we are the only visitors there!haha feels like we rent the whole park..so VIP kan?
You need to pay for the ticket at the entrance fee.hehe When i was a kid, i remember the bird park is waaaay better & fun-ner than now.
I'm using my student card, so we pay RM5 for 2 people, haha still valid :D
Thank god we go Labuan on Thursday.
Hill Myna/Tiong Mas ( Talking bird)
Silver Pheasant/ Kuang Perak.. pretty huh? :)
Red Lory / Nuri Merah .. most beautiful red bird ever~ |
White Macau?? |
Brown Booby / Dendang Laut .. i'm busy taking picture here and there and saw this thing..i think he/she probably saw me too so it came closer and very close to me..then baby said " baby come here..don't dekat2 the booby kena patuk nanti u"
Then we proceed to Bird Park Museum...
Favourite picture of the trip~haha
it looks real kan? haha
he's trying to wrestling with the thing...
Peacock~!
The Chimney Museum
Next, we went to Chimney Museum, which is not so far from the Bird Park, 3-5 minutes walking distance. Haha we didn't planned to go here actually, we thought jauh, rupanya dekat only.
After that, we wait for a bus to go back to Town.
We reached Town around 3pm ++. Then baby asked me if i want to Financial Park/ Ujangan Kewangan ( U.K), the only mall in Labuan since its still early and alang2 already. of cause laaa i want to shop!
We walk from the bus station to U.K, which is quite far..around 10 minutes walking la.
To tell you the truth, You can shop til you drop in Labuan IF you're looking for ALCOHOL, TOBACCO & CHOCOLATES. other than that, the boutique & accessories shops is lame as shit.. I'm sorry to say this but seriously, nothing you can buy from U.K, everything is so outdated here!
I saw this one stall called "Tako-yummy"..sound familiar huh?
hehe it looked like Takoyaki but it doesn't taste like takoyaki at all!
i just wasted RM3.50 for this thing...sigh burnt outside, uncooked inside! haihh.....
Next i spotted this beverage shop called Zipango, the milky tea is not that bad..RM4.
Around 8.30pm, we went out for a dinner at Fratini's Restaurant, the only Italian Restaurant in Labuan. Fratini's Restaurant is located near Victoria Hotel, only 1-2 minutes walking you can reached there :D
You can check out the post here..
After dinner, we went to BlueWave Lounge for a drink and enjoy the liveband.
We leave the place around 11pm++ cause we both were tired from walking too much i guess?haha before we got back to the hotel, we went to KFC (24 hours) to grab some food to eat just incase someone's hungry. After i checked out the receipt just nw, I just realize they don't implied gov.tax and service charge in KFC labuan. isn't that great?hehe
