A'roma Ristorante @ Damai

Monday, April 30, 2012

I went to Coffee Bean at Damai  yesterday to have a drink with my boyfriend there but unfortunately they run out of ice, so no ice blended available.  The weather is really hot and i really need something cold like milkshake. :/
So baby told me to go somewhere else. We went to this Italian restaurant called A'roma Ristorante, which is located one row with Tong Hing Supermarket and next to some stationery shop. Previously the shop is actually a Bakery shop, but now it became an Italian restaurant.
I think they merged with Southern Bakery or partnership or something like that.
But good news everyone, the price is slightly cheaper than other Italian restaurants like Little Italy & Bella Italiana in KK. I spotted another branch of A'roma Ristorante at Lido area, the row of shops opposite some furniture shops.
I wanted to tried out their bolognese and lasagna cause it look so delish but i already ate at home. Maybe i'll consider to have dinner here for my coming birthday at this restaurant :)
Now everyone can enjoy a good italian meal without paying more.
But since we only go there for a drink, we didn't try out different meal except for the pizza.

Set pizza: Margherita RM9.90 with Ice Lemon Tea/Lime
Thin crust pizza and crispy. It was delish!
from 10am - 3 pm only.
 Strawberry milkshake and Vanilla milkshake
RM5.90 each

You know what? i'll definitely come back for more :)
Total paid is RM21.70 for two person.

Overall rating;

Food and drinks : 4/5
Services : 4/5, waitress very helpful but a lil bit slow.
Price : Reasonable & it's a budget Italian food, trust me :)

Party Play Cafe @ Lintas

Sunday, October 16, 2011

Last night i went to Party Play Lifestyle Cafe @ Lintas for dinner with Dave.
Well, I'm pretty sure most of you heard about this place before right?
This place is so famous in KK right now and i wonder why~
I found out about this place from Esther i think..
PartyPlay Cafe has been operating since last year if i'm not mistaken.. They serves mostly western style food, yummy dessert and cold smoothies...oh they do serves alcohol too! I will come back again to try their yummy alcohol :p
Anyway, this is my first visit to Party Play Cafe, so i don't really know what is the most recommended food here..but i know most blogger recommended to try the Mango Tandoori Chicken Pizza but i just don't feel like eating pizza last night.
Personally, i think the food look delicious and classy because of the food presentation...i give 4/5 for that...but it taste normal and nothing special..Oh well, that's just my opinion :)
So do check out the pictures below:D

Very very sour pineapple juice in a small fish tank :) RM6
I think it's not fair la to serve my watermelon juice in this "thin glass"...i also want the fish tank :( haha RM8
There's a live band performing last night!I forgot what's the band name actually but i think they performed pretty good because they sang my favourite song!:D
Okay...i think this is Roasted Half Farmed Chicken :) RM18
The chicken is quite meaty and juicy..marinated with teriyaki sauce and served with simple black/soy sauce..??haha Overall, it was just, okay i think..nothing special to talk about also. haha i'm sorry i don't mean to criticize their food,im just sharing my experience. I give a rating of 2.5/5
All dishes comes with choices of fries/mash potato/potato wedges/roasted potato/rice.
Aussie Style Beer Battered Fish and Chips..RM16
Well, the fish and chips served with tartar sauce. I'm a fan of tartar sauce but this definitely is not the best tartar sauce. Overall it's tasteless and oily...it taste like normal fish and chips,i actually prefer Fish and Co one than this.. Same rating, 2.5/5

We didn't manage to finish everything actually..hehe so we kinda waste some food last night..thank god i'm not the one who pay for it ;D
 Hah finally! My dessert~
Dark Chocolate Fondant with Milk Ice Cream! RM10
I love this dark choco fondant! it tastes pretty good and delicious~ Oh, guess what? it smells good too!;D The only food i'm satisfied with at Party Play so far is this choco fondant....MUST TRY!
I give a rating of 4/5!
looking at this right now makes me wanna*drools*..haha no la just kidding..but trust me, you won't regret if you order this....just this i mean :D
Well, actually it was our 3 years and 11 months anniversary yesterday.
We planned to have dinner at Le Safran, Suria but sadly the tickets are SOLD OUT! Then why lah on the 15th October also they wanna do their grand opening?!
haihh....Honestly, i'm really disappointed yesterday...but life must goes on~its just a dinner anyway.. And I fucking will go there soon without their promotion and so on. ;D

Overall rating;
Food and Drinks : 3/5
Services : 4/5 ( liveband+wifi~)

Home Recipe : Kek Batik ( Batik Cake)

Thursday, July 14, 2011

Kek Batik!! It is the easiest homemade cake to make.
Why? because...there’s NO baking involved and is basically mixing the ingredients together and putting it in the fridge while it sets.
I remember during F6 schooldays, because of our laziness to go canteen during recess time, we just buy some junk food from "Koperasi". Guess what?just a small slice of batik cake costs me 50 cents!they seriously make a lot of profit by selling that for 50 cents each.  haha yet i still buy from them:)
Batik cake is supposed to have a soft and fudgy texture but it can be slightly different from others in terms of the ingredients.

All you need is Marie biscuits, butter, condense milk, and Milo/Vico/Cocoa.

1. Add milo/vico/cocoa and condense milk  into your cooking pan
2. Melt the butter in your cooking pan(remember to reduce heat). Stir the mixture until you get a relatively smooth batter.( this part is most important, make sure that your mixture does not harden)
3. Now, add in the hand crush marie biscuits into the mixture. Don't stir too much cause it will brush the biscuits more.
4. Transfer mixture to the prepared tin/ container and lastly, place into your refrigerator to chill for at least 3-4 hours(depend on the size).
5. Enjoy your cake!

Do check out some of the pictures~
I know my batik cake doesn't look THAT NICE in the picture, but it taste really good!:P

p/s Actually, its been awhile since the last time i make this Batik cake. But thank god, cause this time...my batik cake is eat-able and not that hard like a rock..hahaha:D
